Totem Trio

The electric bass player Eric Ragu and the violin player Jean-Lou Descamps start their collaboration, attracted by their common pleasure inthe modal approach to making music. An experiment through which the essence of what is to become TOTEM becomes apparent very quickly: melting the lyricism of classical music and the energy of rock with their own, melodic compositions and with improvisations which are insired by all the light and shade necessary for the magic of an imaginary journey.
Drummer Olivier Besenval joins the existing duo and allows
the music to take off, thanks to his rythms which add colour and space to its musical and emotional range. TOTEM finds its equilibrium as a Trio: a sort of interactive "role Change" in which each member is soloist as well as accompanying the two others.

TOTEM TRIO records its first album in Paris.

Nothing planned for the moment.

"...graphically full-bodied crossover chamber music with jazz signatures, sophisticatedly constructed as much as it is interpreted with ambition and deep conviction and ... aestethic in its sound and composition. Furthermore, the Totems understand instrumental dynamics and dramatic songwriting and avoid all excessive violinistic sweetness.
